Someone asked if there were going to be any new isk sinks in the upcoming expansion. I jokingly said that the forums and local chat were going to have fees for using. After kidding about it I put some more thought into it and figured "Hey this might actually work."
What I would do is charge to use SOME of the forums, things like out of pod, general discussion, fittings and missions should remain free. The ones I would really target are Features and Ideas, Assembly Hall and most of all CAOD.
5m to start a thread.
1m to post in thread.
10m fine when a GM moves thread to one of fees required forums. (because it was posted in the wrong area)
No isk on alt = no posting.
The local channel could get cleaned up A LOT if you were charged 10k per ascii character you posted in ANY local channel. So saying "hello" to someone would cost 50k isk.
Thoughts?

Of coarse you don't like it, you'd be pushing 3 bil isk in trolling people. For someone with as many posts as you have I'm shocked you don't know where those stats came from, maybe you should do some more reading and less posting.
Forcing people to question weather their stupid ideas are worth presenting here on the forums could weed out a lot of the Troll. If you feel it is a punishment then you are obviously a troll.

Making people question their own ideas before they post them (because they would have to pay) would be much more effective than you running around calling people stupid.

If you would make some forums cost money ... the feature discussions would just move elsewhere (general discussion maybe, we get a lot of threads moved from there). So instead of having one forum for ideas discussion, CCP would need to monitor all other subforums if there useful ideas.
The community would definitely gain a lot from that.
The idea is to get people to put thought into their posts. You are doing an incredible job here at proving why this would be a good idea, and I thank you for that.
If you would have actually taken the time to consider what my OP contained, you would realize that people would be punished for trying to avoid the fees by putting Features and Ideas into general discussion - the 10 million isk to move it.
Sadly because there is no drawback to trolling, very good ideas get buried by SOSDD threads (cloaks and salvage). Also good ideas are often trolled into non-existence because trolls DON'T BOTHER TO READ THE OP. Introducing fees is nothing more than anti-troll, anti-spam. People with legit ideas and opinions are willing to back them with isk.

Just another reason to back this, if you cant even come up with 5 mil isk for CCP to hear your idea, you are not experienced enough in this game to have your idea heard. Sorry.
